Museum Buncheong Ware Curriculum Integration for Elementary School Students
Jeonnam Goheung Buncheong Culture Museum announced that it will conduct a ‘Buncheong Ware Curriculum-Linked Program’ for elementary school students in the area.
To this end, the Buncheong Culture Museum and the Jeollanam-do Goheung Office of Education signed a ‘Local Education Revitalization Cooperation Project Agreement’ at the Buncheong Culture Museum on the 4th, agreeing to operate various programs related to Goheung’s history, culture, and Buncheong ware.
This program, themed around Goheung Buncheong ware, a cultural heritage of our region, will be held weekly until December in connection with elementary school curriculum classes, with content designed to allow students to easily and enjoyably approach cultural assets.
The program is divided into lower and upper elementary school grades and combines theory and hands-on experiences such as pre-education with worksheets on Goheung Buncheong ware, electric wheel pottery experience, and pattern drawing, providing students with an opportunity to properly learn about Goheung Buncheong ware, a cultural heritage of our region.
In particular, the museum plans to provide history and culture education of Goheung that is easily accessible to elementary students, helping them to correctly understand Goheung Buncheong ware, a cultural heritage of our hometown, and cultivate self-directed learning abilities.
A museum official said, “We will strive to provide growing youth with opportunities to easily and enjoyably approach our local cultural heritage, foster a correct historical consciousness, and enable anyone to become a promoter of Goheung’s cultural heritage.”
