Suwon City will join hands with five local universities on the 5th to attract advanced companies. After the agreement ceremony, representatives from the participating organizations are taking a commemorative photo.
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is partnering with Kyonggi University, Dongnam Health University, Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon Women's University, and Ajou University to attract advanced companies to local universities.
On the 5th, Suwon City announced that it signed a 'Mutual Development Business Agreement' with these five universities at the city hall situation room.
According to the agreement, the five universities will promote the attraction of companies on available land within their campuses and cooperate with Suwon City's corporate attraction projects.
Suwon City will provide administrative support by promptly handling various permits and other administrative procedures to ensure smooth implementation of the agreement.
They will also jointly discover cooperative projects for regional development and collaborate in various ways to contribute to the local community.
Attracting companies within universities is one of the key projects of Suwon City's 8th mayoral term.
In November last year, Mayor Lee Jae-jun of Suwon held a meeting with the presidents of the five universities to discuss cooperation plans for attracting companies using idle land within the universities and promised regular meetings.
The signing ceremony on this day served as the first regular meeting for corporate attraction, marking the first step in public-academic cooperation.
They plan to hold regular meetings going forward to actively promote the agreement's provisions. The meeting name was decided as 'Univ in Suwon.'
Mayor Lee Jae-jun of Suwon emphasized, "Suwon has excellent transportation networks and geographical advantages, as well as cultural facilities like Hwaseong Fortress, and is ready to work with companies and universities. We will join forces and strive to overcome regulations such as the Metropolitan Area Readjustment Act and grow together."
