Jang Chung-nam, Namhae County Governor, Gives Special Lecture to Elderly University Students in Changseon-myeon

Jang Chung-nam, the mayor of Namhae County, Gyeongnam, gave a special lecture titled "Vibrant and Healthy Old Age Life" at the Changseon-myeon Comprehensive Welfare Center, attended by 150 senior university students from Changseon-myeon.

In the lecture held on the 3rd, Mayor Jang delivered a talk on ways to lead a vibrant and healthy old age life in the era of 100 years, drawing great responses from the senior university students.

Jang Chung-nam, Governor of Namhae County, Gyeongnam, gave a special lecture titled "Vibrant and Healthy Senior Life" to senior university students in Changseon-myeon.

He emphasized that to enjoy a healthy and vibrant old age life, while longevity, health, and income?known as the five blessings?are important, true health and comfort in old age, called Cheongbok (淸福), can only be achieved by properly enjoying what one currently has and having companions to share it with.

He also mentioned the importance of filial piety and stressed that serving the elderly well is the foundation of county administration, in line with Namhae County’s status as the first county-level and the first in Gyeongnam to be designated as a “WHO Age-friendly City.”

Mayor Jang said, “I hope everyone always enjoys Cheongbok (淸福) by staying healthy and keeping a peaceful and happy mind,” adding, “The mayor and public officials will do their best to ensure the comfortable old age life of our seniors, which is the highest goal of Namhae county administration.”

Changseon-myeon Senior University was established on May 13, 2010, and operates as a place for local seniors to learn and enjoy leisure by offering various courses such as singing, yoga, health gymnastics, dance, Korean language, and computer classes every Monday from 1 p.m. for two hours.
