Discusses Agricultural Cooperation with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister

Lee Seong-hee, Chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF), visited Le Minh Khai, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, in Hanoi on the 3rd and requested special attention to expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector between Korea and Vietnam. He also asked for the Vietnamese government's support for the bid to host the 2030 Busan Expo.

In response, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai asked NACF to contribute to information exchange and the development of cooperative projects between the two countries based on NACF's capabilities in agricultural and rural development, as well as to support community contribution activities.

On the same day, Chairman Lee signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation in the agricultural sector with Nguyen Ngoc Bao, Chairman of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA).

The VCA is the highest-level cooperative organization in Vietnam, encompassing cooperatives across all industries including agriculture, credit, services, transportation, and small businesses. It has about 27,000 cooperatives as members, with a total of 9.3 million members.

Through this MOU, NACF plans to expand cooperative projects such as ▲ strengthening mutual exchanges with VCA through training, joint seminars, and regular exchanges ▲ expanding product sales through mutual trade ▲ sharing growth experiences of NACF Financial and continuing cooperation ▲ supporting activities of NACF affiliates in Vietnam. In particular, they will actively promote the sale of Korean NACF kimchi and processed foods through 128 Coop Mart stores nationwide under the VCA.

Chairman Lee said, "With this MOU with VCA, we will do our best to expand agricultural food exports and contribute to improving the income of farmers in both countries through collaboration with VCA."
