Kakao Mobility Partners with GS Global for Green Mobility Collaboration

Kakao Mobility announced on the 4th that it has signed a business agreement with GS Global to "promote eco-friendly mobility and establish a recycling ecosystem."

Kakao Mobility and GS Global plan to collaborate across the green mobility business, including the promotion of eco-friendly electric vehicles, utilization and reprocessing of used batteries. By integrating GS Global's car import and sales infrastructure and expertise into the Kakao Mobility platform, they aim to enhance convenience for electric vehicle users while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality.

First, both companies will focus on laying the foundation for a total eco-friendly vehicle solution for electric vehicle users, including expanding the electric vehicle lineup and charging services. Currently, GS Global is introducing various electric vehicle models to the domestic market as an importer and seller of electric vehicles. Starting from this agreement, Kakao Mobility will increase sales accessibility for general users through its platform "Kakao T" and provide linked electric vehicle services.

They will also collaborate in the area of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management. GS Global is promoting a used battery recycling business as part of waste recycling. Kakao Mobility requires battery management and used battery utilization solutions through its electric taxi distribution and electric bike business. Accordingly, both companies aim to establish a resource circulation system for sustainable growth by cooperating in the fields of used battery utilization and reprocessing.

Ryu Geung-seon, CEO of Kakao Mobility, said, "We expect that through cooperation with GS Global, we will be able to realize expanded green mobility, including the wider distribution of eco-friendly vehicles and used battery recycling."
