The Saemaeul Leaders Association (President Han Jong-an) and the Saemaeul Women's Association of Cheonggi-myeon, Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk, held the "Sharing Love Snacks" event again on the 3rd, following the event on March 30.
Last week, the first "Sharing Love Snacks" event was held for 40 elderly living alone, and today, the second event was conducted by directly visiting 40 elderly living alone.
Although it is a busy season for farming, about 20 members of the Cheonggi-myeon Saemaeul Leaders Association and Saemaeul Women's Association participated in the "Sharing Love Snacks" event with bright faces, delivering warmth to the elderly living alone in Cheonggi-myeon.
Lee Sang-bun, president of the Saemaeul Women's Association, said, "This volunteer activity was prepared for the elderly living alone who may be by themselves even in spring when forsythias bloom after the cold winter, and we wanted to convey warm hearts like spring through the snacks we prepared."
In response, Kim Kyung-gi, head of Cheonggi-myeon, said, "I am grateful to the Saemaeul Leaders Association and the Saemaeul Women's Association for volunteering for neighbors despite the busy farming season, and I hope that smiles will bloom on the faces of the elderly living alone through this event, just like cherry blossoms in full bloom."
