'Amazing Bellygom Happy B-DAY'
The 18m giant public exhibition 'Amazing Bellygom' attracted 550,000 visitors during its first weekend (April 1-2).

On the 1st, Lotte Home Shopping unveiled an 18m tall, 5-story high Bellygom at the main plaza of Lotte World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul. With the concept of a 'party celebrating the return of April with Bellygom,' visitors lined up to take 인증샷 (certification photos) of the playful Bellygom wearing a party hat and blowing out candles, enjoying the cherry blossom outing. Visitors also flocked to a 2m standalone sculpture of Bellygom’s best friend 'Kkonangi' made into a cake. The pop-up store, expanded to four times last year’s size, saw long queues of people waiting to purchase limited edition goods such as sitting dolls, stickers, and keyrings. Various events were also held, including a 'surprise camera' that startled visitors and a 'Happy Bubble Party' with soap bubbles floating around.
The event runs until the 23rd. A Bellygom theme song with a birthday party concept was released, and events such as 'Bellygom’s Dance Party,' where four Bellygoms dance to the theme song, and 'Rent a Bellygom,' inviting 10 customers celebrating birthdays, proposals, or other anniversaries to enjoy exclusive photo time with the giant Bellygom, are also being held.
Bellygom is a popular character with a cumulative 1.45 million subscribers on social media (SNS). Going forward, it will help create a spring festival atmosphere at various Seoul landmarks, including the Seoul cultural tourism festival 'Seoul Festa 2023' and the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) exhibition 'Strange DDP’s Bellygom.'
