'AI Asks Me First?' Chatbot Debuts That Reads My Writing and Asks Questions

Edutech startup TwoBlockAI announced on the 3rd that it has launched a literacy chatbot called 'KEEwiChat'.

Utilizing OpenAI's ChatGPT, this chatbot reads written texts and asks questions to engage users in conversation. Typically, ChatGPT operates by having a person ask questions first and then ChatGPT responds. However, KEEwiChat is distinctive in that the chatbot reads the person's writing and initiates questions to the user, fostering empathetic dialogue.

KEEwiChat is an AI service that combines natural language processing technology with prompts. After KEEwi (Korean Essay Evaluation With AI) provides a writing evaluation report to improve literacy, users can interact with it in a chat format. Just as various post-reading activities enhance the joy of reading, KEEwiChat enables follow-up activities after writing. Students can organize their reading and discussions into writing, receive quick feedback through KEEwiChat, and revise their work accordingly.

Cho Young-hwan, CEO of TwoBlockAI, said, "What is important in writing is not just technically writing well, but expanding the writer's thoughts and discussing diverse perspectives. Besides pointing out shortcomings in writing, I believed that conversations where one can empathize and share thoughts are essential, which led to the planning of KEEwiChat."

Researcher Um Ji-woo, who led the development, stated, "Writing has always been difficult and uninteresting. Through KEEwiChat, many people will be able to revisit their own writing and experience enough enjoyment to want to write again."

TwoBlockAI is an edutech AI startup that possesses its own Korean morphological analyzer as well as deep language model technologies such as HanBERT, HanBART, and HanGPT. It has won awards for three consecutive years in AI online competitions and recently registered two patents related to the use of ChatGPT.
