Active On-Site Administration Driving Forward Military Current Projects
Jin Byeong-yeong, the mayor of Hamyang County in Gyeongnam, attended the Gyeongnam Provincial Government briefing session held at the Government Sejong Convention Center, organized by Gyeongnam Province, to understand current provincial projects and establish communication channels with central government officials, making efforts to promote county projects and secure national and provincial funding for 2024.
The briefing session was an opportunity to introduce major issues and national funding projects in Gyeongnam, attended by about 200 central government officials from the Sejong and Daejeon areas, along with Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, Jin Byeong-yeong, Mayor of Hamyang County, Park Il-ho, Mayor of Miryang, Cheon Yeong-gi, Mayor of Tongyeong, Kim Yoon-cheol, Mayor of Hapcheon County, and about 70 senior officials from the provincial government.
Gyeongnam Province explained pressing issues through reports on major projects, including the creation of the Seonbi Culture Heritage Pungnyu Tourism Belt in Hamyang, the establishment of the Space Aviation Agency, and the construction of the South Coast Global Marine Tourism Belt, requesting active cooperation.
Mayor Jin said, “Hamyang is the only place in the country with two national parks, Jirisan and Deogyusan, making it a region blessed with a pristine natural environment. It is a transportation hub where three expressways pass through, giving it the geographical advantage of being the closest area in Gyeongnam to the Seoul metropolitan area.” He added, “I ask the government officials present here to take great interest and cooperate so that Hamyang County can emerge as the center of the southern inland region.”
Additionally, during the dinner following the briefing session, Mayor Jin personally greeted central government officials one by one, promoting the county and requesting cooperation on current projects.
A separate meeting was arranged with central government officials from Hamyang to explain county administrative issues, strengthening personal networks and actively engaging in field administration to promote projects and secure national and provincial funding.
