'Food Tech Agricultural and Food Industry Innovation Growth Symposium' to be Held on the 5th
Seeking Strategic Promotion Plans and New Vitality for Agricultural and Food Industry Growth
As Food Technology (Food+Technology) emerges as a new growth industry worldwide, a symposium featuring numerous domestic experts will be held in Pohang City.
The city will jointly host the "Pohang Food Tech Agro-food Industry Innovation Growth Symposium" with Pohang Technopark on April 5th at 2 PM in the event hall on the 2nd floor of Change-up Ground (inside POSTECH).
The symposium will be held under the theme "Food Tech Industry Trends, Smart Production, Distribution, Consumption, and Technology of Food: Exploring Development Plans for Pohang." In the first session, keynote presentations will be given by Professor Ki-Won Lee of Seoul National University (Chairman of the Korea Food Tech Association), Professor Joo-Hong Park of POSTECH (Department of IT Convergence), CEO Jong-Hoon Park of Neuromecha, and Professor Sang-Chul Kim of Jeonbuk National University (Intelligent Robotics Research Institute).
In the second session, a panel discussion will be chaired by Professor Joo-Hong Park, with panelists including Professor Ki-Won Lee, CEO Jong-Hoon Park, Professor Sang-Chul Kim, Senior Researcher Yong-Jun Choi of POSCO Holdings Future Technology Research Institute, and Jae-Kyu Park, Head of the Bio-Health Industry Team at Pohang Technopark.
A city official stated, "Since COVID-19, food consumption trends have changed due to increased emphasis on environment and health, personalized consumption, and the activation of non-face-to-face interactions, leading to the rapid rise of the food tech industry. Through this symposium, we plan to review domestic food tech industry trends and seek strategic development plans for Pohang City as well as new vitality for the growth of the agro-food industry."
