Memory Semiconductor Prices Continue to Fall in March... NAND Drops Below $4 Mark

According to market research firm DRAMeXchange on the 31st, the average fixed transaction price for PC DRAM general-purpose products (DDR4 8Gb) in March was recorded at $1.81. DRAM prices have maintained the $1.81 level for three consecutive months since falling 18.10% in January this year, breaking below the $2 mark. With DRAM suppliers still burdened by inventory and traders preparing for second-quarter price negotiations, there was no change in the fixed transaction price this month.

The fixed transaction price refers to the contract transaction amount between companies. It is considered the most representative indicator showing market conditions related to semiconductor supply and demand. DRAM prices held steady at $4.10 until September 2021, but fell below the $3 mark to $2.88 in July last year, and dropped below $2 in January this year.

However, NAND prices saw a significant decline. The fixed transaction price for NAND flash general-purpose products (128Gb 16Gx8 MLC) in March was $3.93, down 5.12% from the previous month. Although prices had remained stable around the $4 mark for five months, this month’s price fell more than 5%, dropping to the $3 level.
