With this investment, JS Tech plans to construct a new factory covering 6,988㎡ in Gumi High-Tech Valley by the end of 2023. Together with Gumi City's workforce, the company aims to realize expertise in the secondary battery sector.

The company collaborates with the nation's top secondary battery cathode material company to produce electric vehicle batteries. By investing in Gumi High-Tech Valley, it is expected to achieve higher levels of quality and production capacity.

Currently, lithium, a core material for secondary batteries, is essential for semiconductors, secondary batteries, and electric vehicles, and is one of the top 10 strategic critical minerals. Companies worldwide are fiercely competing to secure this material.

JS Tech is known to possess technology that optimizes the production of lithium, which is difficult to supply. It provides high-purity materials required by cathode material companies for use in electric vehicle batteries.

JS Tech Co., Ltd., established in September 2001, is recognized as an excellent company specializing in entrusted grinding processing and new material development and manufacturing. Headquartered in Sanam-myeon, Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province, it is the first in Korea to use advanced technology for fine particle processing to develop new materials and process high-grade entrusted fine particles of advanced and general-purpose materials. The company plans to further develop these technologies and know-how in collaboration with Gumi City.

In the entrusted fine particle processing business established in the United States, Europe, and Japan, JS Tech possesses various technologies that perform grinding, classification, drying, mixing, and surface treatment at micro and nano scales using specialized fine particle technology on behalf of users.

Kim Jang-ho, Mayor of Gumi City, emphasized, “With secondary battery material, parts, and equipment companies flocking to Gumi High-Tech Valley, it is expected to greatly contribute to the diversification of industries in the Gumi National Industrial Complex.”
