Based on Harmony and Cooperation Among Organizations, United for Regional Development
On the 29th, Chuksan-myeon in Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk, held a meeting with about 15 heads of organizations including Saemaeul leaders, the president of the sports association, and the president of the life improvement association at the second-floor conference room of the Chuksan-myeon office, where they decided to form a council of social organization leaders and elect its executives.
This meeting was held to rebuild exchanges and harmony among organizations that had been postponed due to restrictions on interactions and gatherings among groups since COVID-19, following the recent government policy lifting restrictions on private gatherings and mask-wearing obligations.
Accordingly, the Chuksan-myeon Social Organization Leaders Council elected Kim Gwang-myeong, head of the Chuksan-myeon Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group, as the council chairman and formed new executives to share local issues and information among organizations, marking a strong new start.
In particular, the council has set as immediate tasks the successful hosting of the 28th Boksa Flower Grand Festival commemorating Yeongdeok-gun Citizens' Day on the 17th, and the 13th Yeongdeok Mulga-jami Festival, which will be held over three days from the 28th to the 30th around Chuksan Port. To this end, they plan to unite the capabilities of each organization and prepare with utmost effort.
Chairman Kim Gwang-myeong said, “I firmly believe that all re-organized groups and members will come together with the same heart and purpose for the development of our region, which is the foundation of life and activities. I hope that based on mutual understanding and consideration, everyone will join forces to contribute to the success of the Boksa Flower Grand Festival and the Yeongdeok Mulga-jami Festival.”
At this occasion, Chuksan-myeon Mayor Park Chae-rak expressed gratitude and encouragement to the Social Organization Leaders Council for their love and dedication to the community and their contributions to a better society, saying, “We will make every effort at the administrative level to support this and strive to cooperate actively.”
