Oh Byung-kwon, Gyeonggi Province Administrative Deputy Governor, is presiding over the Gyeonggi GPT Promotion Task Force meeting on the 31st.
On the 31st, Gyeonggi Province held a meeting of the dedicated task force (TF) for the Gyeonggi GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) initiative at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office, chaired by Oh Byeong-kwon, the first deputy governor of Gyeonggi Province, to discuss the direction of the Gyeonggi GPT project and its application areas in provincial administration.
The dedicated Gyeonggi GPT organization consists of a think tank group made up of related department heads, public institution leaders, and private experts, along with five practical implementation subcommittees: overall coordination and support, citizen opportunities, industrial opportunities, administrative innovation, and public discourse and legislation.
The think tank is responsible for establishing the direction for GPT adoption, formulating policy plans, and identifying areas for administrative application, while the practical implementation group prepares concrete execution plans and carries out the projects.
On this day, the dedicated organization shared the Gyeonggi GPT promotion plan (roadmap) and exchanged opinions on policy directions for Gyeonggi Province administration in the era of generative artificial intelligence, the direction of Gyeonggi GPT promotion, and areas of administrative application.
Oh Byeong-kwon, the first deputy governor of Gyeonggi Province, emphasized, "Gyeonggi Province will take a leading role in applying GPT," adding, "We will actively promote various policies utilizing GPT to enable more convenient and innovative administration for our citizens."
Earlier, on the 20th, the province held the 'GPT Innovation Forum,' where experts from fields such as ethics, business, and AI utilization participated and exchanged diverse opinions under the theme of 'Changes and Opportunities in the GPT Era.'
At this event, Kim Dong-yeon, governor of Gyeonggi Province, pledged to actively introduce advanced technologies such as GPT into provincial administration.
Subsequently, on the 21st, the province announced the 'Gyeonggi GPT Promotion Plan (Roadmap).'
The promotion plan includes ▲ the 'GPT Citizen Creative Group,' which promotes art education using AI and the exhibition and dissemination of activity results for 15 people with developmental disabilities ▲ the launch of the 'GPT Industry-Academia-Research-Government Council,' involving AI companies, related universities, and research institutions in the province ▲ the establishment of a (tentatively named) 'Future Growth Fund' with approximately 50 billion KRW to support promising startups in future-based industries such as generative AI (GPT) and big data ▲ operation of an AI-based Gyeonggi Province call center ▲ and a 'GPT Proposal Contest' for all employees of the province and public institutions.
