4,365 Cherry Blossom Trees Offer Colorful Night Views
Gwangyang Steelworks Ensures Visitor Convenience and Safety
The cherry blossoms in full bloom in the Kumho-dong residential complex near the Gwangyang Steelworks signaled the arrival of spring.
Since the early construction phase, Gwangyang Steelworks has aimed to be an eco-friendly Green Steelworks, planting various tree species with green spaces in mind. Approximately 5 million trees have been planted across about 2,456,300 pyeong.

In particular, the 4,365 cherry trees planted in the Gwangyang Steelworks residential complex and the Baegundae trail bloom with light pink flowers in spring, creating a spectacular view and long established as a cherry blossom hotspot for Gwangyang citizens.
Moreover, in the evening, the lights installed around the cherry trees emit periodically changing colorful lights, creating a dreamy atmosphere as if stepping into a fairy tale, with the light pink blossoms, stirring excitement in the hearts of citizens.
Under Gwangyang Steelworks, △ Sarangsil’s Puffed Rice Talent Volunteer Group, △ Haneubaramb Balloon Art Talent Volunteer Group, and △ Hand-drawn Hope Calligraphy Talent Volunteer Group are conducting volunteer activities along the cherry blossom path in the residential complex until the 31st of this month, coinciding with the full bloom of the cherry blossoms.
The volunteers offer savory popcorn and puffed rice to satisfy hungry visitors, various balloon art that captivates the childlike heart, and calligraphy inscribing heartwarming phrases, providing joyful memories to citizens enjoying the cherry blossom outing.
On the evening of the 29th, with a cool breeze and added floral fragrance, the Gwangyang Steelworks residential complex was bustling with spring flower admirers. Visitors with their families filled the cherry blossom path with laughter from citizens and children chatting and walking together.
Meanwhile, as many citizens visit for cherry blossom outings during the full bloom period, Gwangyang Steelworks is restricting vehicle access to the Baegundae cherry blossom path until April 2nd to help citizens enjoy the flowers comfortably and safely.
