Kim Yong-min "Lee Jae-myung and Ha Young-je are different cases... Wrong frame"

Regarding the approval of the arrest consent motion for Hayoungje, a member of the People Power Party, the pro-Lee Myung-bak faction lawmaker Kim Yong-min dismissed the view that a second arrest consent motion for Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, could be a burden for the Democratic Party, saying "the matters themselves are completely different."

On the 31st, Kim said on SBS's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show,' "The media is misusing this by placing them on the same level and comparing them, framing it as an attack on the Democratic Party," he said.

Kim Yong-min "Lee Jae-myung and Ha Young-je are different cases... Wrong frame" On the 30th, at the 2nd plenary session of the 404th National Assembly (extraordinary session) held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, the motion for arrest consent for National Assembly member Ha Young-je was passed. The day before, the arrest consent motion for Representative Ha was approved with 160 votes in favor, 99 against, and 22 abstentions out of 281 members present. Considering that the People Power Party had effectively made supporting Ha's arrest consent motion a party stance, at least 40 members of the Democratic Party also voted in favor. This has sparked controversy over a double standard ('Naeronambul' ? "romance if I do it, scandal if others do it") as the attitude differs from when the motion was for Lee Jae-myung or lawmaker Roh Woong-rae.

Regarding this, Kim said, "It depends on the matter," adding, "Looking at cases like the Daejang-dong incident investigated by the prosecution, there was no objective evidence at all, and rather, there were instances where people who were detained had their detention lifted and then changed their statements. These are typical manipulations in special investigation cases."

He emphasized, "In the case of Representative Ha, there is an actual recorded conversation that he himself admitted to, and he does not deny it. So the matter itself is completely different from the case of the leader (Lee Jae-myung)."
