Israel Launches Missile Attack on Syria's Capital

The Israeli military reportedly attacked Damascus, the capital of Syria, with missiles, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on the 30th.

The Observatory explained that numerous missiles fell in the southern part of Damascus, destroying a pro-Iranian militia base.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense also issued a statement saying, "Missiles from the Israeli military came from the direction of the Golan Heights, and a significant number of them were intercepted."

The Observatory stated that including this attack, the Israeli military has conducted airstrikes in Syria five times this month. Two soldiers were reported injured in this attack.

Iran is a key ally of the Assad regime in Syria and Israel's greatest adversary. Israel holds the position that it cannot allow pro-Iranian armed forces, including Hezbollah, to be stationed in Syria, which borders Israel.

Since last year, Israel has been intensively targeting Iranian military bases and arsenals that supply weapons to the Assad regime and the pro-Iranian Hezbollah.
