Busan Gijang-gun supports scholarships to promote lifelong education for its residents.
On the 30th, Gijang-gun announced that it signed a business agreement with Busan Digital University on the 29th to support local residents' participation in lifelong learning and to lead the development of lifelong learning in the region.

Busan Digital University is the first cyber university established in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) area and was selected as the entrusted operator of the 2023 Gijang-gun Residents University project, currently operating the Gijang-gun Residents University. Through this business agreement, both parties agreed to mutually cooperate to revitalize lifelong learning, including providing scholarship benefits to Gijang-gun residents.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲providing a 30% scholarship on tuition fees for Gijang-gun residents enrolled in undergraduate courses at Busan Digital University (for students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher) ▲providing a 50% scholarship on tuition fees per course for Gijang-gun residents enrolled in the Credit Bank System at the Lifelong Education Center ▲developing mutual cooperative projects and exchanging information to promote lifelong learning ▲and establishing other organic cooperative relationships.
Jung Jong-bok, the county governor, said, “I hope this will be an opportunity for residents to utilize the university’s high-quality educational programs to develop themselves and strengthen their capabilities,” adding, “We will actively support continuous public-academic cooperation to provide diverse lifelong learning opportunities and improve the quality of life for our residents.”
