The Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra announced that the single "Into The New World" (Orchestra Ver.), a collaboration with SM Entertainment's classical label SM Classics, will be released on various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 31st. The music video will also be released simultaneously through the SMTOWN YouTube channel and other platforms.
Previously, in June 2020, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra signed Korea's first-ever business agreement between a symphony orchestra and an entertainment company with SM Classics. That year, they released orchestral versions of Red Velvet's "Red Flavor" and SHINee Jonghyun's "End of a day." In 2022, they unveiled orchestral versions of Red Velvet's "Feel My Rhythm" and aespa's debut song "Black Mamba," receiving enthusiastic responses from both K-pop and classical music fans.
The orchestra version of "Into The New World" reinterprets the original song's bright and hopeful atmosphere with a rich and diverse orchestral sound, featuring woodwinds, brass, and more, offering a unique charm.
This piece samples the widely recognized classical music "Pomp and Circumstance March" by Elgar in both its introduction and finale, adding a musical tribute to the journey of Girls' Generation, the "K-pop legendary girl group."
The music video for this orchestra version of "Into The New World" will not only showcase the grand performance of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra but will also feature various music video and stage footage from Girls' Generation's past, evoking nostalgia for fans who enjoyed the song when it was first released.
A representative from the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra stated, "Through our ongoing cross-genre collaboration with SM Classics, we will continue to develop new content and expand the reach of classical music by producing high-quality works that transcend genre boundaries, combining the familiarity of popular music with the sophistication of classical, as K-pop and classical music collaborations become a rising trend."
