Lee Jae-hwan, Vice President of the Korea Tourism Organization, and Jung Yeon-jeong, CEO of the Seoul Foundation of Women and Family, signed the business agreement at the Organization’s Seoul Center on the same day, agreeing to strengthen support for women with career experience.
Through this business agreement, the Organization will provide customized tourism ICT training desired by tourism companies in Seoul, such as travel agencies and venture companies. The Foundation plans to support up to about 20 graduates with wage subsidies (living wage x 3 months) through internships and employment incentives (1 million KRW x 3 months) for companies that continue to employ them.
The ICT training will be held twice in total, from April 17 to May 9 and from April 24 to May 16. Each training program will accommodate 30 to 40 participants per course, and the application period is from the 29th to April 11. Detailed information and application methods can be found on the tourism workforce portal ‘Gwangwangin’, operated by the Organization, the Organization’s website, or the Seoul Women Up Project website.
Lee Jae-hwan, Vice President of the Korea Tourism Organization, said, “Considering the 2022 birth rate of 0.78 announced recently by Statistics Korea and the entry into a super-aged society in 2025, it is a very important time to secure national tourism competitiveness by enabling various groups such as women with career experience and the new middle-aged to enter tourism industry jobs.” He added, “We will further strengthen the cultivation of tourism talent through collaboration with various institutions, such as this business agreement with the Foundation.”
