"People Cannot Be Deceived... Will Be Judged in the General Election"

Heo Eun-ah, a member of the People Power Party, raised her voice against the Democratic Party of Korea's recommendation of former Democratic Party lawmaker Choi Min-hee as a commissioner of the Korea Communications Commission, saying, "Are they now trying to turn even the KCC into a 'pro-Lee Jae-myung vanguard'?"

On the 30th, Heo posted on her Facebook, "The Democratic Party of Korea recommended Choi Min-hee, who called Lee Jae-myung 'a successful Jeon Tae-il,' as a commissioner of the Korea Communications Commission," and criticized, "She is a figure from whom we cannot have even the slightest expectation of securing broadcast neutrality."

She continued to criticize the Democratic Party, saying, "Whether it's the Broadcasting Act or anything else, why are you so obsessed with seizing control of the media? Do you really believe that in this era of media big bang, you can blind the eyes and ears of the people?" and added, "The Democratic Party without democracy is now even pitiful. They will not escape the people's judgment in next year's general election."

Meanwhile, on the same day, the National Assembly held a plenary session and approved the proposal to recommend former lawmaker Choi as a standing commissioner of the Korea Communications Commission. The recommendation passed by secret ballot with 156 votes in favor, 18 against, 1 abstention, and 2 invalid votes out of 177 members present. The vote was conducted solely by the opposition party after People Power Party lawmakers walked out in protest against Choi's recommendation.
