Korea Broadcasting Association "Will Devote Efforts to Improving Excessive Regulations"

The Korea Broadcasting Association announced on the 30th that it held the 2023 regular general meeting and board of directors meeting at the Mokdong Broadcasting Hall, resolving mutual cooperation among its 39 member companies nationwide.


Chairman Kim Ui-cheol diagnosed the reality of terrestrial broadcasting, stating, "Despite the completely changed media environment due to the emergence of global online video services (OTT), unreasonable discriminatory regulations remain unchanged, creating a difficult management environment." He added, "The association will devote all its efforts to improving excessive regulations to protect terrestrial broadcasting as an irreplaceable clean media amid the confusing media environment," urging solidarity and unity among all member companies.

At the general meeting, the Korea Broadcasting Association approved the 2022 business performance and settlement plan, as well as the 2023 business plan and budget. The reappointment of directors whose terms expired?Ahn Hyung-jun (President of MBC), Park Jung-hoon (President of SBS), and Kim Yu-yeol (President of EBS)?was resolved. Additionally, Kim Nak-gon, President of Gwangju MBC, and Lim Chae-young, President of Gwangju Broadcasting, were appointed as new directors, and Yang Chan-seung, President of Pohang MBC, was appointed as the new auditor, forming the executive team.
