Honest Talk with Yeongyang County Governor and MZ Employees Together
O Do-chang, the governor of Yeongyang County, held a dialogue session titled "Yeongyang, Connecting through Communication (疏通)" on March 30th in the county office's large conference room with about 40 employees of grades 8 and 9.
Yeongyang-gun held a communication session with the county governor titled 'Yeongyang ONtong (ON通), Empathy Talk Talk.'
This event was conducted as part of the 8th elected administration's pledge project, "Implementing a Trusted County Administration through Improvement of Work Methods," based on an employee survey to create a smooth communication environment in the workplace and establish a foundation for mutual understanding.
With the recent full-scale entry of the MZ generation into the public service sector, the county expects to foster a more enjoyable workplace atmosphere by providing informal communication time to minimize conflicts arising from generational value differences and help smooth adaptation to workplace life.
The MZ generation is a compound term referring to the Millennial generation born between 1980 and 1996 and Generation Z born between 1997 and 2004.
During the previous 7th elected administration, dialogues were held four times each with grade 6 team leaders and grade 7 employees, receiving great responses. Through this opportunity, the county plans to listen to difficulties and challenges encountered during work processes and actively reflect them in future county administration.
Governor O Do-chang stated, "With the recent full-scale entry of the MZ generation, harmonizing between the older generation and them has become a significant social issue. We will frequently create communication opportunities to recognize each other's differences and seek ways to work together to generate synergy throughout the county."
This event is scheduled to be held four times targeting a total of 161 employees of grades 8 and 9, and the results will be reviewed to continue regular dialogues with employees.
