Gurye 300-ri Cherry Blossom Festival and Taste Experience Held Together
Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate the ‘Samdaesammi Gurye Taste Experience Festival along with the Gurye 300-ri Cherry Blossom Festival’ from April 1 to April 2 at the experience zone behind the main stage at Seosicheon.
The ‘Samdaesammi Gurye Taste Experience Festival along with the Gurye 300-ri Cherry Blossom Festival’ is organized by the Samdaesammi Residents’ Council (led by So Jae-deok), established as part of the Gurye-eup central downtown-type urban regeneration project, and hosted by Gurye-gun and the Gurye-eup Urban Regeneration Field Support Center.
During the festival, the Samdaesammi Residents’ Council will directly operate experience programs to actively encourage participation from Gurye residents and tourists visiting the festival, as well as promote the urban regeneration project.
Programs include a bibimbap experience where tourists can mix and taste bibimbap using Gurye specialties purchased directly from the Gurye 5-day Market, a traditional liquor-making experience using rice from Gurye-gun, and a cherry blossom pressed flower experience using cherry blossom petals during the cherry blossom festival period.
The Samdaesammi Residents’ Council and the Urban Regeneration Field Support Center, who planned and coordinated this event, stated, “We will continue to support events linked to local festivals and develop and operate festivals unique to Gurye-eup to promote the Gurye-eup urban regeneration project and revitalize the Gurye 5-day Market commercial district.”
County Governor Kim Soon-ho said, “We will diversify and continuously operate experience programs linked to local festivals to provide not only local residents but also visitors to Gurye with the taste and joy of Gurye.”
