The ‘Regional Zero-Emission Vehicle Transition Brand Project’ is a program aimed at promoting the distribution of electric vehicles and the establishment of charging infrastructure tailored to regional characteristics.

With this selection, the city will install 96 electric vehicle charging stations at 53 locations including government offices and public parking lots through national funding and private investment projects, resulting in a budget saving of about 10 billion KRW.

Accordingly, the city plans to complete the installation of charging facilities within four months starting from April, and the constructed charging facilities will be mandatorily operated and managed for five years by supporting operators such as the specialized company Daeyeong Chaebi.

Jeong Gi-myeong, Mayor of Yeosu, said, “Through the installation of these ultra-fast and fast chargers, we expect to contribute to the spread of electric vehicles by providing high-quality charging services,” adding, “We will take the lead in realizing carbon neutrality by continuously expanding charging infrastructure and the distribution of eco-friendly vehicles.”
