KG Mobility (formerly SsangYong Motor) announced its future vision on the 30th at the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show. From the Torres electric vehicle and high-end models to concept models, the company pledged a 'new beginning.'
At the Kintex Seoul Mobility Show exhibition hall in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, KG Mobility Chairman Kwak Jae-sun, CEO Jung Yong-won, and KG Mobility Labor Union Chairman Seon Mok-rae attended the event where the company’s name and CI were declared. Regarding the reason for the name change, Chairman Kwak stated it was to provide total mobility solutions.
Chairman Kwak said, "SsangYong Motor has gone through many hardships, but now we will create value as a new mobility company and become a company that everyone expects."

The successor model to the popular Torres released last year was also unveiled. The stars are KG Mobility’s first electric vehicle, the ‘Torres EVX,’ and the Torres TX. The Torres EVX is equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries from the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD. According to KG Mobility, the blade-type battery has a low fire risk and high durability, allowing a maximum driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge.
Chairman Kwak told reporters, “BYD battery quality is excellent, and I believe its safety against fires, which many people worry about, is outstanding.” The company also emphasized its exceptional cost-effectiveness. Including government electric vehicle subsidies, the price is planned to be set in the 30 million KRW range.
The TX is a special model focused on an off-road style. It is equipped with a portable multi air compressor in the trunk. The vehicle roof features a roof flat carrier that can attach sports equipment.
The company also revealed its electrification strategy for change. It showcased three electric SUVs currently under development. These are the electric pickup truck O100 (code name), the large electric SUV S100, and the KR10, which inherits the heritage of the Korando. KG Mobility CEO Jung Yong-won said these models have already been modeled and that development for mass production will begin soon.
