Opened 'LG Mirae Bakkum Center' Exhibition Hall and Participated in '2030 Busan World Expo Bid Support Event'
LG will carry out activities to boost enthusiasm for hosting the ‘2030 Busan World Expo’ in line with the visit of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) inspection team to Korea in early April.
On the 30th, LG announced that it will participate in the ‘Shining at Gwanghwamun’ event, a five-day rally held at Gwanghwamun Square to support the bid for the ‘2030 Busan World Expo.’ Hosted by the 2030 Busan Expo Bid Committee, LG will open the ‘LG Future Change Center’ exhibition hall to showcase various LG technologies during the event.
LG will operate the promotional pavilion "LG Future Change Center" at the event supporting the bid for the Busan World Expo, held from March 30 to April 3 at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul.
At the ‘LG Future Change Center,’ LG has created a space where visitors can experience the Busan World Expo using various technologies such as a future autonomous vehicle concept model, bendable gaming OLED TV, and micro LED displays.
The exhibition features innovative products that have transformed daily life in Korea over the past 76 years, including Lucky Cream by Rakhee Chemical Industry (now LG Household & Health Care), Korea’s first domestically produced cosmetic; Geumseong A-501 by Geumseongsa (now LG Electronics), Korea’s first radio; LG Uplus’s 5G technology; LG Electronics’ 55-inch OLED TV, the world’s first release; and LG Energy Solution’s automotive batteries. These are presented through a time-travel video. At the end of the video, a 3D image of the ‘2030 Busan World Expo’ venue is displayed, allowing visitors to the exhibition hall to directly experience the future Busan hosting the World Expo.
LG also exhibits the ‘LG Omnipod,’ an AI-powered future autonomous vehicle concept model that embodies LG Electronics’ new technologies. The company showcases its new bendable gaming OLED TV, ‘LG OLED FLEX,’ and a 42-inch OLED TV in the ‘Arcade@Haeundae’ setup. Additionally, using LG Electronics’ micro LED signage ‘LG Magnit,’ an aquarium experience is presented where visitors can explore the underwater ecosystem of Busan, the Expo host city.
LG has also systematically prepared promotional activities to coincide with the BIE inspection team’s visit. Starting from the 1st of next month, a welcome message supporting the bid for the ‘2030 Busan World Expo’ will be displayed on digital signage at Incheon International Airport, where the inspection team will arrive. This is to ensure that the team feels the enthusiasm for Korea’s ‘2030 Busan World Expo’ bid from the moment they enter the country. LG will also run ‘2030 Busan Expo Bid Support’ advertisements on large electronic billboards at Seoul Station, Busan Station, and Gimhae International Airport, which the inspection team will use. LG HelloVision will broadcast messages of support from Korean citizens wishing for the successful bid of Busan’s ‘2030 World Expo’ on TV channels available in hotel rooms where the inspection team will stay in Busan.
