[2023 Housing Culture] HDC Hyundai Development Company Strengthens ESG through Win-Win Cooperation with Partners and Local Communities

[2023 Housing Culture] HDC Hyundai Development Company Strengthens ESG through Win-Win Cooperation with Partners and Local Communities HDC Hyundai Development Company published its Sustainability Management Report in November last year and is strengthening its ESG management activities.

HDC Hyundai Development Company is expanding its win-win cooperation this year to strengthen ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.

First, it has prepared practical support measures in areas such as finance and education to achieve mutual growth with its partner companies. In mid-April, it contributed 330 million KRW to the ‘Foundation for Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Cooperation’ as a win-win cooperation fund. The win-win cooperation fund is used as a budget to support partner companies through rewards for excellent partners, educational support, and technical cooperation. HDC Hyundai Development Company started with 100 million KRW in 2020, expanded the fund to 300 million KRW in 2021 and 2022, and increased it by 10% compared to previous years this year.

Along with this, since 2010, it has been operating a win-win fund program annually through agreements with financial institutions. Starting with a scale of 30 billion KRW, the win-win fund was increased to 40 billion KRW in 2021, and in October last year, it was expanded to 82 billion KRW, more than doubling the support targets.

Support is also provided to help develop the workforce and capabilities of partner companies, which relatively lack educational infrastructure. Starting this month, the 3rd term of the ‘HDC Win-Win Campus’ is being operated. The HDC Win-Win Campus, which began in 2021 and is now in its third year, is run to provide more practical help in enhancing the competitiveness of partner companies by expanding the range of courses to include foreign languages, management, and leadership in addition to job training.

HDC Hyundai Development Company is also engaged in community contribution activities to fulfill its corporate social responsibility. This month, employees, along with staff from the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Han River Project Headquarters and Volunteer Center, participated in a ‘plogging’ volunteer activity, walking around Banpo Hangang Park and Ichon Hangang Park to pick up trash and clean the environment.
