A man in his 50s was arrested by the police for injuring his workplace superior with a weapon, citing oppression as the reason.
The Gwangyang Police Station in Jeonnam announced on the 30th that they have apprehended and are investigating A (54) on charges of assault with a deadly weapon against his workplace superior (attempted murder).
A is accused of stabbing his superior, B (58), with a weapon he had at his company office at around 4:10 p.m. the previous day, causing injury.
B was taken to the hospital by colleagues who were present in the office at the time and is receiving treatment; his life is not in danger.
A was caught at the scene by police who responded to a report from colleagues.
According to the police investigation, A, who was showing signs of anxiety in the office, suddenly swung the weapon after B asked him the reason, shouting, "Why do you oppress me?"
The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant after conducting a thorough investigation into A's exact motive for the crime.
