Front Glass Severely Damaged but Not Penetrated
Samsung Electronics' Galaxy smartphone has become a hot topic after a video showing it blocking a flying bullet and saving the life of a Ukrainian soldier went viral.
On the 30th, on social networking services (SNS) such as TikTok and Twitter, a video posted by a person presumed to be a Ukrainian soldier titled "I saved my life thanks to a Samsung smartphone" is being rapidly shared.
In the video, the soldier shows the phone that blocked the bullet and has a conversation with a comrade saying, "Samsung phones save lives."
The smartphone that stopped the bullet shows severe damage to the front glass and damage extending to the back.
The soldier carrying the smartphone appears to be lying on a bed with injuries, but the atmosphere suggests the condition is not serious.
The model is presumed to be the Galaxy S20 FE. The Galaxy S20 FE was equipped with Corning's Gorilla Victus glass, the strongest at the time, on the front. The back was made of polycarbonate, and the side frame was made of aluminum.
This is not the first time a Galaxy has saved the life of a Ukrainian soldier.
In April last year, a video showing a smartphone carried by a Ukrainian soldier blocking a bullet from the Russian army also became a hot topic. In that video, a Ukrainian soldier revealed a bullet had pierced through the phone case and lodged in the center of the device, and the phone model was reported to be the Galaxy S21 FE.
The Reddit post where the video was uploaded received hundreds of comments. Reddit users responded with remarks such as "It's similar to stories of people surviving World War I thanks to coins," "Incredible luck," and "I use the same phone, so it was a bulletproof phone."
