Dongbu Construction announced on the 30th that it has won the 28 billion KRW contract for the 'Kumho River Wastewater Trunk Pipeline Installation Project' commissioned by the Public Procurement Service.
This project, taking place in the midstream area of the Kumho River in Daegu (from Kumho Waterpolis to Sincheon Treatment Plant), is a comprehensive construction involving the installation of a 2,891-meter-long wastewater trunk pipeline, a wastewater relay pump station, and auxiliary facilities. The construction period is approximately three years from the start date, with Dongbu Construction acting as the lead contractor holding a 51% stake. Dongbu Construction explained that by refurbishing the aging pipeline, an improvement in the water quality of the Kumho River is expected.
Since January this year, Dongbu Construction has been increasing its order volume in the public construction sector, starting with Section 1 of the Bucheon Daejang Public Housing District Development Project, followed by the second phase of the Institute for Basic Science main building construction and the expansion of Seongsanpo Port cargo wharf. The company is also actively participating in private investment projects such as the Metropolitan Area Express Railway (GTX) Line B and the Daejang~Hongdae Metropolitan Railway.
A Dongbu Construction official stated, "We are pursuing new construction orders in various fields, including public construction, which is considered our strength," adding, "We will diversify our portfolio to secure orders steadily and focus on sound management by strengthening profitability."
