Hyosung TNC will produce dustproof suits worn at Samsung Electronics semiconductor production sites using ‘Regen,’ a global recycled fiber brand.

Hyosung TNC recently announced on the 30th that it has partnered with Samsung Electronics to manufacture eco-friendly dustproof suits made from Regen, which recycles PET bottles collected from semiconductor plants as well as nearby local governments such as Hwaseong and Suwon. Approximately 10 million PET bottles will be recycled to produce the eco-friendly dustproof suits.

Regen is Hyosung TNC’s recycled fiber made from recycled PET bottles. It is a leading domestic eco-friendly fiber that has obtained the world’s first Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certification from ‘Control Union,’ a global eco-certification specialist organization.

Since January this year, Hyosung TNC has supplied Regen dustproof suits to part of Samsung Electronics’ Pyeongtaek plant and plans to expand to Samsung Electronics’ Giheung and Hwaseong plants.

Regen has recently received much attention from many companies as the importance of eco-friendliness is emphasized in ESG management. Previously, it was applied to uniforms of companies such as Hyundai Heavy Industries, POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks, CGV, and Lotteria.

In addition to eco-friendliness, Regen fibers are produced with various functions necessary for different environments, including cooling (Regen Askin), durability (Mipan Regen Robic), antibacterial properties (Regen Aerosilver), elasticity (Regen Xanadu), and breathability (Regen Aerocool).
