Jang Sang-yoon, Vice Minister of Education, reported assets worth over 1.5 billion KRW.
According to the '2023 Regular Asset Change Report of Public Officials' published in the official gazette by the Government Ethics Committee for Public Officials on the 30th, Vice Minister Jang's assets amounted to 1,545,082,000 KRW.
This is an increase of 263,514,000 KRW compared to the previous year, influenced by the rise in real estate values.

Vice Minister Jang reported owning an apartment in Shindaebang-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul under his name (current value 680 million KRW, increased by 125 million KRW) and an apartment in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do under his spouse's name (current value 396 million KRW, increased by 86 million KRW).
His bank deposits amounted to 57,174,000 KRW, which decreased by over 180 million KRW within a year due to repayment of jeonse deposit debt.
Deputy Vice Minister Naju Beom reported assets of 823,730,000 KRW, a decrease of 37,069,000 KRW compared to the previous year.
He holds a leasehold right for an apartment in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul (890 million KRW) and a pre-sale right for an apartment in Dangha-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon (99.8 million KRW). Deposits under his name, his spouse’s, eldest son’s, and second son’s names totaled 137,299,000 KRW, which decreased compared to the previous year.
Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, who was appointed at the end of last year, was excluded from this regular asset change report.
Among high-ranking officials in the education sector, Lee Won-hee, President of Hankyong National University, reported the largest assets totaling 9,973,103,000 KRW.
President Lee owns a neighborhood living facility in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do under his name (2.33 billion KRW) and holds a leasehold right for an apartment in Sinwon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul (1.1 billion KRW).
Kim Jong-o, Vice President of Korea National Open University, reported assets of 9,082,740,000 KRW, an increase of about 340 million KRW from the previous year, and Park Mi-jung, Vice President for Research Planning at Seoul National University of Science and Technology, reported assets of 6,955,482,000 KRW, an increase of about 700 million KRW.
