Government Official Ethics Committee, Regular Asset Disclosure of High-Ranking Officials
Kim Chang-gi, Commissioner of the National Tax Service, reported assets worth 2.8 billion KRW. His assets decreased by about 80 million KRW due to a reduction in deposits and an increase in debts.
According to the 2023 regular asset disclosure report for high-ranking public officials, released on the 30th by the Government Ethics Committee through the official gazette, Commissioner Kim's assets totaled 2,799,220,000 KRW, down 83,450,000 KRW from the previous 2,882,670,000 KRW.
Commissioner Kim jointly owns an apartment with a net area of 84.9㎡ in Irwon-dong, Seoul, together with his spouse. The current value based on the publicly announced price is 2,176,000,000 KRW.
His deposits amounted to 1,103,290,000 KRW, a decrease of 32,780,000 KRW. Commissioner Kim explained that the decrease in deposits was due to living expenses and other uses. His debts also increased by about 40 million KRW, from 500 million KRW to 539,120,000 KRW.
Deputy Commissioner Kim Tae-ho reported assets totaling 953,460,000 KRW, including a jointly owned apartment in Mok-dong, Seoul (1,010,000,000 KRW), a Jeonse leasehold right for an apartment in Sejong (700,000,000 KRW), and deposits of 165,240,000 KRW. His assets increased by 118,210,000 KRW compared to the previous report due to the rise in apartment prices.
Jung Cheol-woo, Commissioner of the Daegu Regional National Tax Service, saw his assets surge by 6,730,070,000 KRW from the previous 2,961,430,000 KRW to 9,691,500,000 KRW. This increase was due to the addition of asset declarations related to his direct ascendants, including land and apartments owned by his father.
