Hong Tae-yong, mayor of Gimhae City, Gyeongnam, is continuously busy to ensure the smooth progress of local pending projects.
According to Gimhae City on the 29th, Mayor Hong visited the Korea Health Industry Development Institute in Cheongju, Chungbuk, under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare at the Government Sejong Complex on the 29th, following visits to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 15th.
On this day, Mayor Hong emphasized at the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute that the Gimhae Public Medical Center must be established to expand public healthcare and build a medical safety net in eastern Gyeongnam.
To foster the bio-health industry, a local specialized industry, he proposed ▲designation of Gimhae as a Digital Health Regulatory Free Zone ▲a pilot project to demonstrate an integrated smart healthcare health management model ▲collaborative projects to build infrastructure for electronic medicine and digital therapeutic devices.
He said, “I hope a lot of support and interest will be given so that Gimhae City can leap forward as the number one bio-health industry hub in the southeastern region.”

Mayor Hong said, “We are facing difficulties in promoting major pending projects due to price fluctuations caused by the worsening domestic and international economic situation,” adding, “Since many issues are directly related to citizens’ lives and the local economy, we will continue to focus all administrative power and actively propose them to central government ministries.”
