Fabric Differentiation in the New Season

Song Seok-geun, CEO of Codemonts, said in an interview with Asia Economy on the 30th, "We recently participated in global trade shows to showcase our products to buyers and are in the process of signing contracts," adding, "We have also established three direct-to-consumer (D2C) online stores on the global e-commerce platform Cafe24 in Korean, English, and Chinese." The brand is receiving particularly positive responses in the Japanese market. CEO Song emphasized, "Japanese buyers tend to scrutinize product details such as sewing, but they have recognized Codemonts' potential," and "They evaluated that although the product manufacturing is highly challenging, it seems to be well made."
Codemonts reinterprets moments from daily life and various emotions into bags. CEO Song stated, "We pursue modern craftsmanship. We carefully consider everything from the stitching of the product to the consumer's experience," and explained, "The part we think about the most is the overall shape of the product. Incorporating natural curves throughout the product is a highly difficult technique that even technicians generally find challenging, but we implemented it to express our brand identity."
The flagship product is the ‘Montana Bag,’ which embodies the curves of the Montana mountains. Based on the recently popular baguette bag shape, it differentiates itself in terms of overall form, buckles, and strap adjustment functions, garnering consumer approval. In fact, when a Montana Bag pop-up store was held at The Hyundai Seoul last October, more than 2,000 visitors came in a single day. CEO Song said, "Inspired by the movie 'Like a Flowing River' and the mountains of Montana, we incorporated natural curves into the design," and added, "At the pop-up store, we provided customers with a unique experience centered around large objects and a squirrel character living in the mountains."
In the future, Codemonts plans to differentiate not only in design but also in the fabric itself. CEO Song said, "Until now, we have infused Codemonts' personality into the external aspects of the products, but in the new season, we plan to create a light feeling using newly developed synthetic leather fabric," and shared, "Besides pop-up stores, we want to increase customer touchpoints by showcasing performances where nature?such as rivers, lakes, mountains, and the sea?and our products harmonize."
