Teenagers who lured a man in his 40s through a chat app, collectively assaulted him, and extorted money have been arrested.
On the 29th, Yoon Jae-nam, the judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, conducted a pre-arrest detention hearing for three teenagers suspected of special robbery the previous afternoon and issued arrest warrants, citing "risk of flight."
According to the police, on the 26th, the suspects lured a man in his 40s, Mr. A, to a motel in Bongcheon-dong via a chat app, collectively assaulted him, and extorted a total of about 50 million won.
A total of eight teenagers, including the three who were arrested, participated in the crime. None of them fall under the category of juvenile offenders exempt from criminal punishment, so they are subject to criminal prosecution.
