Explaining the Scandal on YouTube Appearance on the 26th
Former Seongnam Urban Development Corporation Planning Director Yoo Dong-gyu claimed that Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, "felt curious" about the scandal allegations involving actor Kim Bu-seon.
On the 26th, Yoo appeared on the YouTube channel 'Yoo Jae-il' live stream and responded to a question about the relationship between Lee and Kim by saying this.
Yoo said, "I also asked about it because many people were talking about the Kim Bu-seon issue at that time," adding, "I suggested filing a lawsuit against Kim Bu-seon. Back then, there was a big fuss about why we couldn't file a lawsuit. Isn't it because there was something going on? Even though I suggested filing a lawsuit, (Lee) said nothing."
He also said he proposed to Jeong Jin-sang, former chief political coordinator of the Democratic Party leader's office, to sue Kim and settle the matter. He said, "(Jeong Jin-sang) said, 'If we sue, the governor (Lee Jae-myung)'s reputation will be damaged, and the case will drag on for a long time. It would rather create an issue,' and avoided it."
Yoo said, "Every election, these scandal allegations come up, and I couldn't understand it. So I asked Lee directly, 'Honestly, is there something going on? Please tell me no,'" adding, "I needed to know to defend him."
He continued, "Then (Lee) said, 'I met her and once saw her home,' and 'As a man, I did feel some interest and curiosity,' something like that," and claimed, "I honestly have never heard anything more specific. I heard he went to Oksu-dong, where Kim's residence is, by car."
Kim claimed she had an affair with Lee, but Lee has denied it. During this process, in 2018, Kim also claimed to have seen a mole on a specific part of Lee's body. In response, Lee underwent a physical examination at Ajou University Hospital, which announced that "there is no mole or removal scar on the said area."
However, the Democratic Party distanced itself from Yoo's remarks, calling them "personal opinions."
