Gwangju University Students Donate Funds to Aid Earthquake Victims in Turkey and Syria

Students of Gwangju University (President Kim Dong-jin) participated in helping the victims of the T?rkiye-Syria earthquake.

Gwangju University announced that the Student Council of the College of Cultural Industries recently donated funds to the Community Chest of Korea, known as the 'Fruit of Love,' to aid the victims of the T?rkiye and Syria earthquake.

This fundraising event was organized by the Student Council and took place from the 6th to the 17th, with participation from students and faculty members of 11 departments within the College of Cultural Industries, raising a total of 1,218,376 KRW. The fund was named the '2021 Fund' to commemorate the year the College of Cultural Industries Student Council was established.

Kim Sa-rang, president of the College of Cultural Industries Student Council, said, "Although we did not reach our target amount due to many students having already donated through other channels, we express our gratitude to the students who participated to help those in need."

Meanwhile, the fundraising progress was announced in real-time over 12 days via Instagram (Gwangju University College of Cultural Industries Student Council), including the total donation amount and the list of donors. After the donation was made, a certificate of donation was posted to share the results.
