Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is establishing a cooperative system with related organizations to realize carbon neutrality through the activation of environmental and ecological education.

According to Buk-gu on the 28th, on the 30th, an "Agreement for the Activation of Environmental and Ecological Education" will be signed at the Buk-gu Office 2nd floor situation room with the Dongbu Office of Education (Superintendent Jeong Seongsuk) and the Mudeungsan National Park Office.


This agreement was prepared to spread the atmosphere of eco-friendly living and carbon neutrality practice by utilizing the capabilities and resources possessed by each institution.


The contents of the agreement include ▲ development and operation of environmental and ecological programs linked to Mudeungsan National Park ▲ climate crisis response practice education linked to the curriculum ▲ exchange and cooperation of human and material resources related to environmental and ecological education.


Starting next month, Buk-gu will introduce six new programs this year, including the Carbon Zero Challenge EM Environmental Classroom, in addition to the existing six environmental education programs such as the Mudeungsan Pyeongchon Village Firefly Experience.


The Dongbu Office of Education will conduct climate environment and ecological education for elementary and middle school students, and training to strengthen teachers' environmental education capabilities, while the Mudeungsan National Park Office will operate ecological experiences observing seasonal natural changes and career experiences with professions such as zoologists and botanists.


Moon In, the mayor of Buk-gu, said, "Practicing eco-friendly living is most important to reduce carbon emissions," and added, "We will develop and operate various environmental and ecological programs to increase residents' interest in the climate crisis and carbon neutrality."
