"Hyundai Motor Group Supports Transportation for Inspection Team in Full Effort to Host Busan Expo"

Support of a Total of 12 Vehicles Including the G80 Electric Car to the Inspection Team

Hyundai Motor Group will provide transportation vehicles during the site inspection team's visit to Busan for the World Expo. The group plans to offer eco-friendly vehicles, including the Genesis G80 electric car, to allow the inspection team to verify the competitiveness of South Korea's eco-friendly mobility industry.

On the 28th, Hyundai Motor Group signed a cooperation agreement with the '2030 Busan World Expo Bid Committee' at D Tower in Gwanghwamun, Seoul. They pledged mutual cooperation to strengthen the bid activities for the Busan World Expo, including vehicle support during the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) inspection team's visit to Korea.

The inspection team will visit Korea from the 2nd of next month for a 6-day, 5-night schedule to evaluate Busan's capability to host the World Expo. During this period, Hyundai Motor Group will provide a total of 12 vehicles, including eight Genesis G80 electric cars and four Universes (limousine buses and others).

Hyundai Motor Group's support of electric vehicles aligns with the theme of the Busan World Expo and serves as a strategy to differentiate from competing countries. The Busan World Expo has selected the theme "The Great Transformation of the World, Voyage Toward a Better Future." Additionally, it has specified three sub-themes: ▲ Sustainable Life with Nature ▲ Technology for Humanity ▲ A Place of Care and Sharing.

Moreover, the Busan World Expo promotes itself as a "Carbon Neutral Expo through Eco-friendly Technology," which is a key differentiating point from competing cities. To this end, electric and hydrogen electric vehicles will be used as transportation within the Expo site, and the Expo will be operated using eco-friendly energy. A carbon-neutral sea garden is also planned.

Hyundai Motor Group aims to highlight the Busan World Expo's theme and sub-themes, which pursue sustainable life with nature and technology for humanity, by providing eco-friendly electric vehicles. It is expected that the inspection team will experience South Korea's advanced eco-friendly mobility industry firsthand, fostering consensus on Busan's unique point as a carbon-neutral Expo.

In addition to the G80 electric cars, Hyundai Motor Group will provide four Universes?two 28-seat limousine buses and two 45-seat regular buses?so that the inspection team members and staff can hold meetings while on the move. This support is designed with the convenience and efficiency of the inspection team's work in mind.

A Hyundai Motor Group official said, "Providing these vehicles offers a great opportunity for the inspection team to experience Hyundai Motor Group's carbon-neutral technology embedded in electric cars, helping them empathize with the suitability of South Korea and Busan to host the World Expo."

Meanwhile, on the 26th, Hyundai Motor Group globally launched a promotional video for the Busan World Expo bid. The video features Busan citizens directly and introduces Busan's strong determination and capability to host the Expo in the languages of 15 BIE member countries. Additionally, 16 one-minute short-form videos produced exclusively in the languages of individual BIE member countries were simultaneously released to capture the votes of each member country.
