The Mobility Law primarily aims to introduce a support system that normalizes innovation in line with the paradigm shift in transportation and to establish a public support system capable of implementing this.
In particular, it includes provisions such as the establishment of a mobility regulatory sandbox to discover and support diverse and creative private mobility services, and support regulations for creating mobility-specialized cities that introduce user-centered mobility services from the urban planning stage, thereby expected to serve as an institutional foundation for supporting mobility innovation.
Experts from various sectors, including the National Assembly, government, related industries, public institutions, research institutes, and academia, will attend the forum to unite efforts for the enactment of the Mobility Law.
Kim Young-ho, Head of the Mobility Transition Headquarters at the Korea Transport Institute, will present as the keynote speaker on the main contents and significance of the Mobility Law. He is expected to emphasize the role of the Mobility Law in reasonable regulatory improvements to guarantee citizens' mobility rights, flexible system operation, and bold support.
Additionally, Yoo Joon-sang, Director of the Smart City Industry Support Center at the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement, will present on the development direction of the mobility regulatory sandbox based on the know-how and experience accumulated while operating the current smart city regulatory sandbox.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to actively reflect the opinions presented at this forum in the preparation of Mobility Law legislation and related system operations.
