Nationwide Support for Travel Expenses When Taking Disabled Bus for Spring Outings
Up to 500,000 KRW per trip for fuel, tolls, parking fees, supported up to 3 times a year for 2 nights and 3 days
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is providing support for 'mobility expenses for disabled tourism activities' to enable convenient and free travel for mobility-impaired disabled persons during the spring outing season.
The district supports fuel costs, tolls, parking fees, etc., up to 3 times a year (up to 500,000 KRW per trip, for up to 2 nights and 3 days) when wheelchair users take designated disabled buses for cultural and leisure activities.
The support targets mobility-impaired disabled persons using wheelchairs residing in Gwanak-gu, along with their families, groups, or gatherings, with at least one wheelchair user required to be on board.
Available buses include ▲ Seoul Facilities Corporation's 'Seoul Disabled Bus' ▲ Seoul Tourism Foundation's 'Danurim Bus' and 'Danurim Minivan,' with drivers also provided. The operating area covers all nationwide land routes.
To apply, users must reserve and use the bus through the respective disabled bus operators' websites ('Seoul Disabled Bus,' 'Danurim Bus and Danurim Minivan'), then submit the bus reservation confirmation, user list, receipts, and boarding photos to the Gwanak-gu Office Disability Welfare Division.
The district expects the 'mobility expenses for disabled tourism activities' project to provide opportunities for social participation and cultural enjoyment to disabled persons experiencing activity decline and isolation, helping to alleviate depression and stress among them.
An official from the district stated, "More detailed policy consideration is needed to guarantee mobility rights for disabled persons," adding, "We will continue to spare no support so that disabled persons can live happy lives without difference from non-disabled persons."
Eunpyeong-gu Supports Outpatient Diagnostic Test Fees up to 1 Million KRW in Partnership with Eunpyeong St. Mary's Hospital
Agreement Signed on the 23rd to Strengthen Medical Safety Net for Vulnerable Groups
Applicants Selected After Visiting Community Centers and Internal Hospital Meetings
Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mikyung) is launching support for outpatient diagnostic test fees for vulnerable groups in collaboration with Catholic University Eunpyeong St. Mary's Hospital.
On the 23rd, the district signed a business agreement with Eunpyeong St. Mary's Hospital to provide medical expense support for groups facing difficulties visiting medical institutions due to economic reasons.
Under this agreement, Eunpyeong St. Mary's Hospital will support up to 1 million KRW per person for initial and follow-up consultation fees, test fees, etc., targeting groups requiring disease diagnosis. The funds are raised through a beautiful donation collected by faculty and staff. The cooperation system and related support measures have been more systematically established.
Residents wishing to receive test fee support can apply by visiting their local community center. After a comprehensive assessment of each applicant's living conditions, candidates will be recommended, and final recipients will be selected through internal hospital meetings.
Previously, since May last year, the district has been conducting a pilot project for vulnerable groups without places to seek help when ill, aimed at early disease detection and prevention of worsening conditions. Medical expense support for initial and follow-up consultations and tests has improved medical accessibility for vulnerable groups.
Kim Mikyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, "Providing proactive testing support to vulnerable groups who find it harder to cope when ill enables early disease detection and timely treatment," adding, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to build a dense medical welfare safety net through close sharing and linkage of public and private resources."
Neighborhood Knock-Do Dream Activity Group Targets Welfare Blind Spots
351 Members Comprising Local Welfare Communities and Community Leaders Familiar with Neighborhood Conditions... Full-Scale Activities Starting in April
Field-Centered Continuous Discovery of At-Risk Households... Capacity Building Training Held on the 28th Afternoon Before Activities
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pilhyung) has formed the 'Dongdaemun Neighborhood Knock-Do Dream Activity Group' with 351 members to proactively identify at-risk households, following continuous occurrences of cases like the Suwon three mothers death incident that the welfare blind spot detection system failed to capture.
The 'Dongdaemun Neighborhood Knock-Do Dream Activity Group,' composed of local welfare communities and community leaders at the neighborhood level, held a capacity-building training session on the afternoon of the 28th at 2:30 PM in the multipurpose auditorium on the 2nd floor of the district office, where team leaders received appointment certificates ahead of full-scale activities starting in April.
The 'Neighborhood Knock-Do Dream Activity Group' is a project designed to have residents familiar with neighborhood conditions directly discover neighbors in welfare blind spots and connect them to welfare services, symbolizing the act of going around every corner of the neighborhood to deliver hope and dreams to neighbors.
The group will operate 'Knock-Do Dream Day' once a month (the first Wednesday of every month), conducting neighborhood patrols focused on residential areas. They carefully check if various overdue notices and flyers are piled up in mailboxes and gates, or if notices about power or gas disconnections are posted on doors. If a crisis is detected, they report it to the local community center to help neighbors in difficulty receive prompt welfare services.
Additionally, if at-risk households are discovered during daily life, reports can be made anytime through the KakaoTalk channel 'Dongdaemun-gu Welfare Nuri Talk,' enabling continuous welfare blind spot detection.
Especially, in April and October, the group plans to conduct promotional campaigns targeting areas with dense floating populations and daily life-related businesses, distributing promotional materials in residential areas as part of active publicity efforts.
Lee Pilhyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, "I ask the Dongdaemun Neighborhood Knock-Do Dream Activity Group to serve as a ladder by knocking on every door in the neighborhood to find at-risk households and those at risk of solitary death in welfare blind spots," adding, "We will build a more detailed human safety net through public-private cooperation to resolve welfare blind spots and take a step closer to creating a 'Happy Dongdaemun-gu.'"
