Sacheon-si Launches Policy Advisory Group ... Advisory Role for Overall City Administration

Appointment of 32 Experts from 6 Divisions Across Various Fields

The 'Sacheon City Policy Advisory Group,' which will play a role in advising on the overall city administration, including the development direction and major policy decisions of Sacheon City, Gyeongnam, has been launched.

On the 27th, the city held a policy advisory meeting in the city hall's main conference room and presented appointment letters to the newly reorganized advisory group members for the 8th elected term.

The advisory group consists of 32 professors and experts from various fields, organized into six divisions: Administrative Welfare, Aerospace, Industrial Economy, Culture and Tourism, Safety and Urban, and Agriculture and Fisheries.

Professor Jeong Woo-geon of Gyeongsang National University was elected as the head, and Professor Kang Ho-geun of Gyeongnam Provincial Geochang University was elected as the deputy head.

The city newly established the Aerospace division to respond to the rapidly changing trends such as the establishment of the Aerospace Agency in Sacheon, and reorganized some divisions for efficient operation of the advisory group following the organizational restructuring.

At the advisory meeting, explanations and exchanges of opinions among advisory members were held regarding major issues in Sacheon City, including support for the establishment of the Aerospace Agency in Sacheon, attracting institutions targeted for the second phase of public institution relocation to local areas, creation of the Gyeongnam Aviation National Industrial Complex, and development of the Samcheonpo Rainbow Ecological Trail.

Head Jeong said, “I will contribute to the development of city administration through creative and professional proposals and advice on urgent major issues such as the establishment of the Aerospace Agency in Sacheon.”

Mayor Park Dong-sik said, “Sacheon City is at a point of great change this year, including the opening of the Aerospace Agency, and the wise wisdom and long-term perspective of the advisory group members are urgently needed. We will always listen carefully to the advice and opinions of the members and actively reflect them in city administration for the development of Sacheon City and the happiness of its citizens.”
