Park Ji-hyun "Gaeddal is neither 2030 nor women... must sever ties"

"Don't Just Warn with Words" Toward Lee Jae-myung
"Leave the Fan Cafe and Apologize to Park Yong-jin and Lee Won-wook"

Former Emergency Response Committee Chair of the Democratic Party, Park Ji-hyun, urged Lee Jae-myung, the party leader, on the 27th to "start the innovation of the Democratic Party by severing ties with the 'Gaeddal' (hardcore supporters of Lee Jae-myung)."

In a post on Facebook that day, Park said, "I have called for the abolition of violent fandom politics represented by Gaeddal. Gaeddal are no longer just the 2030 generation or women. They are simply a force that destroys a democratic party where diversity is vital," asserting this point.

Park added, "As long as the Democratic Party and Leader Lee do not part ways with Gaeddal, the hostile coexistence of hatred and confrontation will continue. The 2030 generation, who voted for the Democratic Party in the last presidential election, will not return to the party, and reforms based on cooperation and improvements in citizens' lives will remain a distant dream," she said.

She continued, "Recently, Leader Lee has repeatedly requested his hardcore supporters to stop attacking those on our side. But if his request for restraint is sincere, he must firmly take measures to eliminate the material foundation that has allowed Gaeddal to repeatedly engage in violent acts, rather than just issuing verbal warnings," she emphasized.

Park proposed specific measures to Leader Lee, including the withdrawal of all Democratic Party lawmakers from the hardcore supporters' fan cafe 'Jaemyung's Village,' improvements to the party members' bulletin board such as banning petitions aimed at criticizing colleagues, direct apologies to non-Myeong (非明) faction lawmakers Park Yong-jin and Lee Won-wook, an apology regarding the disguised party withdrawal by lawmaker Min Hyung-bae during the legislative process of the 'Prosecutorial Reform' (amendments to the Prosecutors' Office Act and Criminal Procedure Act), and focusing on youth and women's issues.

She stated, "The strengthening of Gaeddal's violent tendencies coincides with the time Leader Lee joined the fan cafe. To regain the support of the departed 2030 generation, Leader Lee must break ties with Gaeddal. Politicians who have driven the Democratic Party into crisis by hiding behind or riding on Gaeddal must first reflect before the public," she stressed.
