Appointment of Members to the People’s Livelihood Hope Special Committee Completed... First Meeting Scheduled for This Week

The People Power Party's Livelihood Hope Special Committee (tentative name) announced on the 27th that it has completed its personnel appointments and plans to hold its first meeting soon.


The Livelihood Special Committee consists of a total of 14 members, including current lawmakers Jo Eun-hee, Bae Jun-young, Kim Mi-ae, Jang Dong-hyuk, and Jeong Hee-yong.


All are first-term lawmakers, with regional representation balanced across Seoul/Gyeonggi, Busan/Ulsan/Gyeongnam, Chungcheong, and Daegu/Gyeongbuk. Jo Su-jin, the Supreme Council member serving as the chair of the Livelihood Special Committee, introduced the members to reporters after the Supreme Council meeting, saying, "Assemblywoman Jo is someone who has been recognized for her administrative work," and explained, "Assemblyman Bae previously served as the chairman of the Incheon Port Logistics Council." She added, "Assemblywoman Kim was selected because, depending on the issue, collaboration with the Committee for Accompanying the Vulnerable is necessary, and Assemblyman Jang was asked to serve as the spokesperson for the Livelihood Special Committee because he is very good at being a spokesperson," and said, "Assemblyman Jeong is also the chair of the party's Disaster Countermeasures Special Committee, so we will collaborate as needed."

For the Honam region, Jeong Seon-hwa, former chair of the Jeonju-si Byeong Party Committee (and member of the Central Party's Next Generation Women's Committee), and Yoon Seon-ung, chair of the Mokpo Party Committee (and director of the Mokpo Saemaeul Literature Club), were appointed as special committee members.


As civilian special committee members, columnist Kwak Dae-jung, who runs a convenience store; Kim Ga-ram, former central president of the Korea Junior Chamber (JC) and a former candidate for youth supreme council member; Kim Min-su, CEO of Cheongnyang Mushroom Farm; Do Geon-woo, director of Daegu Technopark; Doo Sung-gyu, head of the Mokmin Economic Policy Research Institute; Moon Seung-kwan, head of construction and real estate at Edaily; and Jeong Hae-yong, former deputy mayor for economic affairs of Daegu City, among others (in alphabetical order), agreed to participate.


Regarding the first agenda item, Chair Jo said, "At the first meeting, we will discuss how to take the first steps toward livelihood initiatives, focusing on feasible and small-scale actions," adding, "I thought a lot about the first task until late last night." On the meeting schedule, she said, "We are coordinating the schedule to hold the first meeting within this week."


Meanwhile, on the same day, first-term lawmaker Park Soo-young was appointed as the head of the Yeouido Institute. Assemblyman Song Eon-seok will serve as the chairman of the election commission for selecting the floor leader and the party's National Assembly Steering Committee chair candidates. The election commissioners, confirmed through the Supreme Council's approval, include Kim Mi-ae, Park Dae-soo, Yoon Doo-hyun, Jang Dong-hyuk, Jeon Bong-min, and Hong Seok-jun.
