Electric Vehicle iX1 Also Released
BMW Korea officially launches the completely redesigned compact Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) X1 and the pure electric SAV iX1 in the domestic market.
Both vehicles feature a changed exterior. The front is equipped with 'ㄱ'-shaped LED daytime running lights and an integrated kidney grille. The rear features LED taillights with a design that bends upward at both ends. The kidney grille and hidden-type door handles enhance aerodynamic performance.
Inside, the front seats are equipped with a curved display combining a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch control display. The latest operating system, BMW OS 8, is installed, minimizing physical buttons and enhancing touch operation and voice recognition functions.
The body dimensions of both vehicles have increased compared to the previous model, with length extended by 55 mm, width by 15 mm, and height increased by 15 to 25 mm. The trunk cargo capacity has expanded from a basic 490?540 liters to a maximum of 1495?1600 liters when folding the second row seats.
The X1 is available with gasoline and diesel engines. The gasoline model, X1 sDrive20i, is equipped with a BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder gasoline engine delivering a maximum output of 204 horsepower and a peak torque of 30.6 kg·m.
The X1 sDrive18d features a BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder diesel engine with a maximum output of 150 horsepower and a peak torque of 36.7 kg·m. Both models come with a Steptronic 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The iX1 xDrive30 is equipped with one motor on each of the front and rear axles, producing a maximum output of 313 horsepower and a peak torque of 50.4 kg·m, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. It is the first BMW premium compact segment electric all-wheel-drive system. The BMW Iconic Sound Electric, an electric vehicle-exclusive sound developed by legendary film composer Hans Zimmer, is also included. It offers a maximum driving range of 310 km on a single charge, and charging from 10% to 80% takes 29 minutes.
An enhanced driver assistance system is standard. The Driving Assistant, which includes lane-keeping assist and active cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, is standard equipment. The parking assistance system, 'Parking Assistant Plus,' is also standard, supporting reverse steering assistance based on the entry path and a surround view.
Vehicle connectivity has also been improved. All models come standard with BMW Digital Key Plus, allowing vehicle locking/unlocking, starting, and driving via smartphone without a physical key. Remote software upgrades keep the vehicle's software up to date, and both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available.
All models feature lumbar support and active massage seats for the front seats as standard. The rear seatbacks can be adjusted up to a 12-degree recline. Additionally, a Harman Kardon sound system, heated steering wheel, and heated seats are standard features.
The BMW X1 and iX1 are available in two trims: xLine and M Sport. The price of the X1 sDrive20i xLine is 58.7 million KRW, and the X1 sDrive20i M Sport is priced at 63.4 million KRW. The X1 sDrive18d xLine and M Sport are priced at 57.7 million KRW and 62.4 million KRW, respectively.
