On the 27th, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education held the 2023 academic year ‘Baro Jiwon 365!’ Rapid Response Team inauguration ceremony at Andong Grand Hotel to provide swift support to students and schools in crisis situations.
At the inauguration ceremony, 75 participants including heads, team leaders, and staff members from the Gyeongbuk Office of Education and each education support office attended, conducting events such as introducing the operation status of the ‘Baro Jiwon 365!’ Rapid Response Team, reading the pledge of practice, and chanting slogans.
The ‘Baro Jiwon 365!’ Rapid Response Team provides practical assistance to students and schools through prompt responses to crisis students and school violence incidents, aiming to prevent escalation of issues, prioritizing self-harm and suicide prevention, and supporting conflict resolution and dispute mediation among school members for relationship restoration.
About 340 experts with professional qualifications from various fields, including lifestyle education supervisors and education support managers from the Gyeongbuk Office of Education and 23 education support offices as team leaders, principals, vice principals, supervisors, professional counselors, lawyers, clinical psychologists, and social workers, are active as members of the Rapid Response Team.
The Rapid Response Team operates in three units: the Crisis Student Support Team, the School Violence Incident Support Team, and the Relationship Restoration Support Team, organizing teams according to the type of reported cases to provide swift support to students and schools.
Additionally, a response system has been established to enable comprehensive support by strengthening cooperative networks with various related organizations such as police stations, youth counseling and welfare centers, mental health welfare centers, and sexual violence counseling centers.
Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, urged, “Since initial response is crucial when a crisis occurs at school, I ask for active efforts to prevent the spread of issues through the immediate intervention of the professional ‘Baro Jiwon 365!’ Rapid Response Team and to stabilize school education.”
