Recruitment of Participating Companies for the 'Large and Small-Medium Enterprise Win-Win Job Program'

Job Training Utilizing Large Corporation Education and Training Infrastructure for Young Job Seekers

The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 27th that it is recruiting large and medium-sized enterprises to participate in the 'Large and Small-Medium Enterprise Win-Win Job Program.'

Since 2018, SBC has been operating the Large and Small-Medium Enterprise Win-Win Job Program, which utilizes the excellent education and training infrastructure of large enterprises to provide job competency training to young job seekers and connect them to employment at partner small and medium enterprises. Over the past five years, 18 project groups and 1,813 partner SMEs have participated in the program, providing training to 4,539 job seekers and connecting 2,487 to employment.

Starting this year, SBC plans to newly introduce a 'Consortium Project Group' model in which large enterprises collaborate with universities and specialized educational institutions to nurture industry-specific professionals. They will recruit large enterprise project groups focusing on future strategic industries such as AI and semiconductors, as well as national foundational industries like shipbuilding and steelmaking.

The POSCO project group began participating in 2018, providing training to 709 individuals in the 'Steel Production Equipment Maintenance Course' and connecting 451 people to employment at 113 partner SMEs, contributing to job creation in the Pohang and Gwangyang regions. They plan to continue participation this year as well.

The eligible participants are domestic large or medium-sized enterprises that do not fall under the definition of SMEs according to the 'Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises.' Large (or medium-sized) enterprises can form project groups together with partner SMEs that have job openings and participate in the program. Project groups must possess excellent educational programs and a network of partner SMEs, as well as the capability to connect young job seekers to employment. Additionally, they must identify common educational needs of partner SMEs, develop training courses, and recruit young job seekers.

SBC supports selected project groups with training operation expenses such as course development costs, rental fees, and material costs, and facilitates pre-matching meetings between young job seekers and HR managers of partner companies. After course completion, SBC plans to provide tailored support to ensure actual employment, thereby increasing the employment rate.

Jo Han-gyo, Head of the Human Resources Growth Division at SBC, stated, "We will do our best to foster a win-win cooperation atmosphere between large and small-medium enterprises and resolve job mismatches through the Large and Small-Medium Enterprise Win-Win Job Program."
