To this end, in collaboration with Seongdong Fire Station, standalone smoke detectors and household powder fire extinguishers, which are fire prevention facilities for homes, will be provided to 1,000 semi-basement households. Seongdong-gu is promoting practical disaster prevention measures to further improve the housing standards of vulnerable residential groups. To prevent flooding in semi-basement homes, a full survey was proactively completed, and from February for one month, applications for installation of flood prevention facilities from owners or tenants were accepted. Based on this, the district plans to complete installations by June before the rainy season.

Additionally, fire prevention home fire safety facilities will be installed in line with the timing of flood prevention facility installations.

Jeong Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, "Semi-basement homes face many difficulties such as securing evacuation routes in case of fire, so it is important to prepare measures for fire prevention. Home fire safety facilities are the minimum safety facilities that can protect residents' lives and property. We will continue to strive to prepare practical measures to prevent safety blind spots from occurring."
